Saving American Democracy!

The Civic Project exists to alleviate the pressure on democracy’s Achilles heel. As the great Plato warned, democracy fails because voters support the more charismatic and rhetorical individual. Ideally, the most educated and benevolent candidate would be the more appealing one, but that is unfortunately not the case in reality. So the only way to address this problem is to attack its roots.

The Civic Project aims to provide education that is nonpartisan, easy to understand, and accessible. This will lead to a better-informed and more confident electorate, which only strengthens American democracy. We plan to achieve this by establishing Political Discourse chapters into schools, educating voters through social media, and inspiring real action.
